care guide

melt kit is built for a good time and a long time. we want you to pull your melt kit out in 5, 10 or 15 years from now and think, “hell yeah, I got that release".

melt kit is built to last, but lifespan ultimately comes down to how you treat it.
our guide below outlines the best practices to keep your jacket in the best shape, and please also refer to care labels on the garment.

post-ride rituals

how you handle your kit immediately after riding is just as important as how you wash it.
  • hang your garments up immediately after a ride to ventilate. this stops odor-causing bacteria and protects your technical fabric from degrading
  • if your ride was wet or muddy, give your kit a quick rinse in cold water as soon as possible to prevent stains from setting
  • empty every pocket
  • zip up all zippers completely
  • where possible, use a protective laundry bag

best practices

treat your technical apparel with respect.
  • wash with similar colors to eliminate the risk of color bleeding
  • always use the coldest water setting and select a gentle/low-spin cycle. high speeds stretch out technical apparel
  • stick to mild, natural detergents

drying and storage

be proud of your melt kit and hang it like the clothes you use for the most special occasions.
  • hang to dry naturally. this preserves the tailored fit, extends lifespan and is better for the planet
  • never tumble or warm dry
  • if putting kit away for the winter, ensure it is completely dry before doing so
