impact and responsibility

cycling looks clean but carries a heavy footprint. the manufacturing, shipping, logistics of cycling tours and holidays, takeaway coffee cups and emissions from driving to weekend meet-ups.

these all take a toll on the places and environments that the cycling community explores and thrives in. places we cannot live without.

a shared responsibility

so the cycling community needs to become more responsible.
change begins at the local level. with melt and with every cycling community.
it is our collective duty to find a more conscious way forward. this means being intentional with gear purchases, respecting local environments, cleaning up after ourselves and others, and swapping four wheels for two whenever possible.
it’s about choosing to live cleaner and more responsibly every day.

what can we all do?

we can all make small shifts in our cycling habits that add up.
here is the melt checklist for riding cleaner.
  • don't just ditch flat tubes. patch up and squeeze every last mile out of them if still useable and safe
  • swap parts with friends, buy used, and give perfectly good components a second life on another set of wheels
  • sticky gels and bar wrappers belong in your pocket or finished water bottle, not the local park
  • use your warm-up to get to the meeting spot

the melt approach

as a new community we have an exciting opportunity to start our journey the right way.
so, here's what we are doing.
  • our garments are manufactured in lithuania to the highest quality using premium italian fabrics designed to last. they are built to last
  • longer last products if you follow our care guide
  • our pre-order approach means we do not over manufacture
  • we encourage our community to attend rides and confirm garment size at our post-ride coffee and social events to avoid sizing issues, disappointment and returns
